Sock Surprise

She’s already ten minutes late; the bus is gone.

โ€œLet me grab socks,โ€ I say, unfolding a pair. I look at one purple sock and one green. โ€œDid you do this?โ€

A small hand stifles her giggle. โ€œSurprise!โ€ She shouts.

โ€œNot again,โ€ I sigh. โ€œGuess you need a new chore.โ€

  1. I’m a fan of mismatched socks, so your daughter and I would probably have fun driving you to distraction with this game. Also purple and green look amazing together — I’m not helping, sorry.

  2. There are socks that match??? ๐Ÿ˜› I’ve gotten used to misplacing socks or having the washing machine eat up a sock I forget to notice pairs. Luckily for me, most of mine are white with some small patterns. I loved the innocence in your story and felt like I was watching you and daughter on a busy school morning.
